ROCHESTER &8212; Conference-leading Rochester Century took two games from the Albert Lea baseball team this weekend. The Tigers were downed 8-4 and 12-2.
Albert Lea was held scoreless in the first game until it put four runs on the board in the seventh inning. The Tigers strung four hits together and used an error to account for the four runs.
Taylor Ignaszewski had the big bat for the Tigers going 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs.
A seven-run fourth inning proved to be the difference for Century as Adam Royce took the loss on the mound for the Tigers.
Century (156-3) pounded out 18 hits in the second game with the Tigers going through five pitchers including starter Matt Kaiser who took the loss.
Albert Lea had four hits scoring both runs in the fourth as Mitch Wenum singled and Royce roped a double to get on. Wenum scored on a wild pitch and Royce scored on an infield out.
Albert Lea is back in action tomorrow at Austin for a Big Nine Conference battle as it looks to improve on a 6-10 mark this season.
