Tiger boys get win, girls finish third

ST. PETER &8212; The Albert Lea boys&8217; golf team won the St. Peter triangular Tuesday shooting a 313. St. Peter was second with a 334 and LeSueur-Henderson was their with a 343.

The Tigers were led by medalist Tyler Brackey who shot a 71. Mike Falk carded a 73, Casey Marka fired an 82 and Tyler Haaland rounded out the top four with an 83. Drew Klick shot 85 and Cody Anderson had an 87.

This was the second time the Tigers played on the St. Peter course and their score reflected it.

Albert Lea is back in action Saturday when it travels to Worthington to take part in an invitational.

The Albert Lea girls&8217; team did not fair as well in a triangular in Rochester. The Tigers were third with a 392 while Fairbault won with a 364 and Rochester John Marshall had a 374.

Kelli Hanson led the Tiger switch with an 87, Taylor Nelson shot 99, Ali Demmer had a 102 and both Heather Greibrok and Alicia Heilmann shot 104. Mariah Howe rounded out the varsity with a 113.

It was the Tigers first action in a week and continues a season-long trend of a strong performance followed by a weaker one.

&8220;We just need to put back-to-back good rounds together,&8221; Tiger head coach Sean Riebe said.

The Tigers play in Waseca Monday.
