USC no-hit by FBA

FARIBAULT &8212; The United South Central baseball team couldn&8217;t get anything off of Faribault Bethlehem Academy&8217;s pitcher Pete Lompado who threw a no-hitter past the Rebels Monday.
The Rebels struck out 12 times against Lompado who issued just one walk and faced 23 batters in his team&8217;s 5-0 win.
FBA scored once in the first, three times in the third and once in the fourth to beat Andrew Penning who pitched a strong game for USC. He went the distance allowing five hits, striking out four and walking two.
The loss dropped the Rebels below .500 on the season at 5-6 as they prepare to face New Richland Thursday.
FBA 3, NRHEG 1
NEW RICHLAND &8212; The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva softball team managed just one hit in a 3-1 loss to Faribault Bethlehem Academy&8217;s Friday.
Kelsey Christensen had the team&8217;s hit and scored its run while collecting three steals in the game.
Molly Hacker pitched well for the Panthers striking out seven and not issuing a walk. However, FBA&8217;s pitcher struck out 10.
&8220;FBA had a nice pitcher that mixed speeds well and kept us from getting comfortable in the box,&8221; NRHEG head coach Grant Berg said.
NRHEG is now 3-9 on the season.
Bulldog boys win triangular with ease
LAKE MILLS, Iowa &8212; The Lake Mills boys&8217; golf team improved to 11-1 on the season with a triangular win over Belmond-Klemme and Osage Monday.
The Bulldog shot a 168, Belmond fired a 178 and Osage shot 182.
Osage&8217;s Nate Haaland was the medalist with a 37.
Lake Mills was led by Alex Brandt who shot a 40 while both Mick Tiedman
and Casey Tiedman shot 42. A.J. Appel rounded out the top
four with a 44.
The Bulldog girls finished second shooting 228 while Osage won with a 207. Belmond-Klemme carded a 300.
Trinity Renchin and Ashlyn Norris led Lake Mills with rounds of 52, Jessica Lee shot 60 and Whitney Thompson and Courtney Kingland shot 64.
Osage&8217;s Steph Walk was the medalist with a 46.
The Bulldogs are now 3-4 on the season.
Wolverines fall to L/P
AUSTIN &8212; The Glenville-Emmons girls&8217; golf team lost a dual with Lyle/Pacelli 293-343 Monday.
The Wolverines were led by Jenny Johnson who shot an 82. Reina Saltou shot 84, Brianna Nelson carded an 85 and Sara Harty had a 92.
Lyle/Pacelli&8217;s Emily Leif was the medalist with an 82.
G-E is now 0-3 on the season and is back in Austin to face L/P today.
