USC puts up 10 on LCWM

LAKE CRYSTAL &8212; When the United South Central baseball team scores runs they come in bunches. That trend continued Thursday as USC pounded Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial, 10-2.

The win was the third for the Rebels this season and raised their run total to 42 in those three victories.

USC scored a pair of runs in the first, second and fifth innings before Kevin George smacked a three-run home run in the sixth.

Ned Kalis went 3-for-4 at the plate for the Rebels while Tyler Linde had two hits and three RBIs and Eric Grunzke had two RBIs and picked up the win on the mound.

USC finished the game with 12 hits and held

LCWM to just five.

&8220;I told the kids at the beginning of the season if they hit the ball they are going to be in the lineup,&8221; USC head coach Pat Frank said. &8220;I am still a little worried about our pitching, but it should be an interesting month and a half.&8221;

USC is back in action Monday when it hosts Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton.
