Bertha Larson, 91, Kiester

Bertha Marie (Jahnke) Larson was born Feb. 20, 1915, in Freeborn County, and passed away Jan. 21, 2007, Faribault County. She married Clarence (Bert) Larson on Nov. 30, 1938, at the Mansfield Church in Alden. He preceded her in death. Bertha is survived by two sons, Curtis L. (Dora) of Sedona, Ariz., and Kenneth E. (Linda) of Centennial, Colo.
Eleven brothers and sisters preceded her in death: Manville, Henry, Christian, Walter, Albert, Harold and Ellsworth Jahnke; Maleta (Walter) Abbe, Marie (Albert) Mattick, Freida (Albert) Meisner and Eleanor (Omer) Helland. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Bertha was an active member in Our Savior&8217;s Lutheran Church and in the Kiester community. She loved to read, cook, and do crafts.
She and her husband Bert farmed in the Kiester area and retired in Kiester. Bertha was a cook at the Kiester school for 14 years.
A memorial service will be held at Our Savior&8217;s Lutheran Church in Kiester at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, with a reception following at the church after the graveside service.
