Lincoln W. Nesset, 78, died Saturday, April 7, 2007, at St. Petersburg General Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was born in Gordonsville. He lived in Northwood, Iowa, Minneapolis, Albert Lea, and Los Angeles, Calif.

At the age of 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, spending time in Arabia, Afghanistan, etc. He returned to finish his education and graduated from Northwood High School in 1950. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and First Lutheran Church. One of his first jobs was a theater projection operator, and as a teenager he enlisted in the Civil Air Patrol. He worked as crew chief surveyor in Worth County and as chief gardener at the Curtis Hotel in Minneapolis. One of his first loves was music. He was the leader and drummer of The Convertibles, a very successful band that traveled all over the United States.

Survivors include his beloved daughter Tanyier Malai Joan Prechl and other children, his caregiver, Victoria Cossette, his sisters, Bette Perkins and Kathryn Olson, both of Albert Lea, and other beloved family members.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Olga C. Sanvold Nesset, his father, John T. Nesset, sister,

Lorraine Tverberg, brother, Orville Nesset, sister Beverly Kral, and first born sister, Ardis Elaine. who died at birth.

His remains will be taken to Fort Snelling National Cemetery in St. Paul in August.
