Melvin Hansen, 83, Glenville

Private memorial services will be held for Melvin C. Hansen, 83, of Glenville. He died Saturday, April 7, 2007, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.
Melvin C. Hansen was born April 29, 1923, to Arthur and Harriet (Way) Hansen in Glenville. He attended country school and was a lifelong resident of the Glenville area, where he farmed for many years. On July 29, 1950, Melvin was united in marriage to Ruby Wikoren at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville. He enjoyed listening to old time music, dancing, playing cards, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa and her husband, Justin Studier of Albert Lea; sons, Duane Hansen of Albert Lea and David and his wife, Sandy Hansen of Twin Lakes; grandchildren: Angie Hansen and Gracie and Aliyah Studier; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Ashley; twin sister, Margaret and her husband, Hank Pater of Wisconsin; brothers-in-law, Howard Wikoren and Don Horning; sisters-in-law, Jelaine Nessett, Esther Peterson, Betty and her husband, Duane Erickson, Alice and her husband, Jim Anderson, and Dee and husband, Dick Matson; and nieces and nephews.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby in 1997; his sister, Frances Jacobsen; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Melvin will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.
