Lloyd (Jack) Perkins, 85, of Northwood, died on Sunday, March 25, 2007, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa. Funeral service will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, Iowa, with the Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Jack was born in Deer Creek Township, Worth County, Iowa, on Jan. 21, 1922, the son of Clifford and Ida (Johnson) Perkins. He received his education at Otranto, Iowa, graduating in 1939. Jack married Irma Seuser on Nov. 22, 1944, at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville. To them, two
sons were born; Larry (Butch) of Northwood and David of Des Moines.
Jack enjoyed playing baseball, softball, bowling, golf and cards. He and Irma oversaw daily operations of the Deer Creek 4-H foodstand for 34 years. They farmed in Deer Creek Township until his retirement in 1989 when they moved to Northwood. He was a member of Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter his entire life.
The love of his life was his family who survive him; his wife, Irma, sons Larry and David; three grandchildren, Gina (Jeremy) Solberg, Heather (Tory) Rheingans, Landon Perkins and his fiance Jessica Hertle; one great granddaughter, Mallory Rheingans; a special daughter-in-law, Pam; one sister, Mildred James; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Perkins, Margaret (Lyle ) Krumm, Lillian Loland and Ardis (Allan) Hanson; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
