The funeral
service for Violet H. Baker of New Richland will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Richland.
The Rev. Paul Andre will officiate.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Friedrich Funeral Home, New Richland. Interment will be in the Vista Covenant Cemetery.
Violet Baker died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at the New Richland Care Center, New Richland.
She was 77 years old.
Violet was born June 3, 1929, the only child of Ludwig and Olga Alexanderson in Waseca.
She married Ralph Baker on Sept. 6, 1952, in New Richland.
She attended country school in Otisco Township.
Violet worked on the farm with her parents as a young girl.
After she got married she worked at E.F. Johnson Co. for a short period of time, she then worked at Brown Printing Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1994.
Violet loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Violet is survived by two sons: Donald (Shirley) of Waseca and Dale of New Richland; one daughter, Darlene (Allen) Halstead of Janesville; four grandchildren: Peggy (Lance), Julie, Mary (Lowell), Anna (Rik); great grandchildren: Natalie, Carter and Jose; daughter-in-law, Penny Baker; sisters-in-law: Harriet Baker of Minneapolis, Lois Baker of Albert Lea, Lucille (George) Kampen of New Richland; brothers-in-law: Loren (Helen) Baker of Hartland and Everett (Marie) Baker of Modesto, Cali.; several nieces and nephews.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; parents; two brothers-in-law; two stepsisters-in-law and one stepbrother-in-law.
