Carter Hogen, 2, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Carter John Hogen will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Crossroads Evangelical Church, 3402 Hoeger Lane, Albert Lea, 377-3276.

The Rev. Glen Stevens will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

Carter joined the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, when his heart failed following a liver transplant.

He was 2 years old.

Carter was born on Jan. 4, 2005, in Albert Lea, the son of Alysa Cook and John Hogen. During his short life he touched many lives.

He was particularly fond of taking walks in the halls of St. Marys Hospital and watching the movie &8220;Shark Tail.&8221;

Carter is survived by his mother, Alysa Cook of Albert Lea; father, John Hogen of Northwood, Iowa; grandparents: Gayle Cook of Albert Lea, Steve Cook of Prescott, Ariz., Paul and Connie Hogen of Northwood, Iowa and Joy and Randy Kottwitz of Wylie, Texas;

great-grandparents, Ken and Neva Cook of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; uncle, Aaron Cook; godmother, Brandi Dierkes of Albert Lea; special cousin, Alana Loos of Springfield, Mo.;

and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by great grandparents, Bob and Janet Loos; great-great-grandpa and grandma Drager; great aunt, Nancy Cook

A special thank you to St. Marys Hospital and all their staff on the pediatrics floor for showing so much love and caring.
