Tigers Olchefske signs with MSU

MANKATO &8212; Minnesota State University women&8217;s head soccer coach Chris Miskec and associate head coach Mandy Brettingen have announced that two more student-athletes have signed NCAA National Letters of Intent, adding to its previous six. All eight signees committed during the NCAA&8217;s signing period and will begin attending MSU next fall.

One of the two is Albert Lea High School senior Kendra Olchefske who was a key component to the Tigers&8217; run of success in recent years.

Olchefske served as a goalkeeper for both the soccer and ice hockey teams at Albert Lea and is

a member of the track team. She is a three-time All-Big Nine Conference selection, team captain and team MVP.

The Tiger soccer team was the Class A, Section 2 runner-up during both her junior and senior seasons.

Olchefske also excels in the classroom and is a member of the National Honor Society and a four-time recipient of the Gold Award for Athletes which requires a 3.6 GPA or better.

She is the daughter of Mark and Beth Olchefske.

Miskec has high praise for Olchefske.

&8220;A remarkable athlete, Kendra may not be coming to MSU from a known soccer hotbed, but she has been attending our camps for years and knows what to expect from our coaching staff and athletes,&8221; Miskec said. &8220;Kendra&8217;s future is very bright, and she has a high learning curve for soccer.&8221;

All signings are contingent upon admission to MSU and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Clearinghouse.
