Her life was based on caring for her family and in her later years she cherished the opportunities to care for her grandchildren and doing things to make her children&8217;s lives a little easier. She also enjoyed volunteering as a teachers helper at the Christian school in Wells.
Lorraine is survived by three children: Judy and her husband Dennis Smith of Albert Lea, Linda and her husband Duane Penning of Wells, and Steve Backes and his wife Cary of Crockett, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Alvera Anonson of Stillwater and Frances Spielman of Shakopee; sisters-in-law Louise Hammerlindl of St. Paul and Teresa Beckius of Jordan; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Victor in 1986, one brother and two sisters.
