Bette Lovik, 86, Lake Mills

Bette Delores Lovik was born Jan. 7, 1921, to Anna (Herzog) and Edward Ziesmer in Ventura, Iowa.
She graduated from Garner High School.
After high school, Bette moved to Lake Mills and worked for a short time at The Graphic Publishing Co.
It was in Lake Mills she met and married Dr. Stanley Lovik, DVM.
Doc and Bette had four children: Stephen (deceased) and Linda (Bass), Nate, Jackie, and Josh Lovik of Iowa City, Iowa; Shirlee Lovik Kittleman (deceased) and Thomas, Brad and Sara Kittleman of Florida; Tom and Mary (Morris), Julianna and William Lovik of Okemos, Mich.; Rick and Kelly (Shaffer), Ben and Lindsey Lovik of Prior Lake. Bette is also survived by her sister-in-law, Darlene Ziesmer; a niece, Betty Ann Goll-Muth; and nieces and nephews in Garner, Iowa.
Doc and Betty lived for many years in Lake Mills, where they formed strong bonds with many folks and always had a pot of coffee and some bars ready for unexpected company. Bette was a longtime volunteer for the American Cancer Society and enjoyed playing golf and bridge and in later years frequent games of &8220;Uno&8221; and &8220;Kings in the Corner&8221; with her friends. She was also active in the Literary Club and her circle at Salem Lutheran Church.
Bette&8217;s keen sense of humor, her love for her children and her grandchildren and her strong spirit in spite of her long battle with multiple sclerosis will be cherished and remembered by her family and her friends in Lake Mills, Garner, and at Thorne Crest.
