Joyce Peterson, 88, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Joyce A. Peterson of Good Samaritan Center, Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the Church.
Joyce died on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Center. She was 88.
She was born on Jan. 21, 1918, at Albert Lea, the daughter of George and Laura (Kittleson) Arneson.
She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1936.
Joyce married Axel Peterson on Aug. 29, 1936, at the Little Brown Church Nashua, Iowa.
They lived in Albert Lea, moving to Finland, Minn., in 1957.
They returned to live in Albert Lea in the fall of 2001.
Joyce had worked at Munsingwear as a seamstress. Joyce was a talented artist. They owned and operated Home Cafe in Alden in 1945. While living in Finland, she baked and sold many delicious baked goods and crafts at the Little Finn shop there.
She is survived by her son Dale and his wife LaVonne of Broomfield, Colo.; daughter Marlene and her husband Roger Nordahl of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Dawn Peterson of Broomfield, Colo., Bradley Peterson and his wife Melissa of San Antonio, Texas, Kara Sargent and her husband Todd, of Thornton, Colo., Scott Nordahl and his wife Patty of Hastings, Shari Pirsig and her husband Scott of Albert Lea; great-grandchildren: Sean Peterson of San Antonio, Texas,
Holly and Isaac Sargent of Thornton, Colo.. Candace and Travis Nordahl of Hastings, Casey, Ross and Callen Pirsig of Albert Lea; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bob and Marcia Petersen, John and Mary Ann Petersen, Harry &8220;Pat&8221; and Mary Helen Petersen, all of Albert Lea; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; husband Axel; and sister and brother-in-law Dennise and Niels Nielsen.
