Editorial: Goodbye 2006; hello 2007

Wasn&8217;t 2006 a good year? Didn&8217;t the Albert Lea Sesquicentennial Committee do an outstanding job? Weren&8217;t all those events and activities fun?
There are a long list of names of people who deserve thanks: members of the committee, donors, supporters, volunteers and the people who attended the events. If we listed them all here, we surely would miss a crucial somebody.
It has been enjoyable to attend the sesquicentennial events, to cover them and then to sit back, relax and read about them in this newspaper. Albert Lea knows how to celebrate a birthday.
As Albert Lea enters its 151st year, the Albert Lea Tribune begins its 110th year. We are proud to be the community newspaper for this city and look forward to another 150 years as your local news source.
Here&8217;s a toast to 2007. May it be a fine year for the Land Between the Lakes.
