Mariano Manuel &8220;Mario&8221; Abrego, 66 of Glen Rose, Texas died on Saturday Dec. 2, 2006, at Huguley Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. He had been declining in health.

A memorial service was conducted at noon on Sunday at the family residence.

Born on Sept. 20, 1940, in Mason City Iowa, he was the son of Selection Abrego and Rosa Lopez. He was married to Rosario Abrego on Sept. 29, 1995 in Glen Rose.

Mariano was employed by Somervell County prior to his retirement on Sept. 30, 2002. He was a former resident of Albert Lea.

Survivors include his wife of the home; one son Mario Abrego of Haleyville, Ala.; three daughters, Anna Fuller, Teresa Montgomery and Barbara Atkins, all of Haleyville, Ala.; five brothers, Celestino Abrego Jr., Patrick Abrego and Timothy Abrego, all of Albert Lea, David Abrego of Collinsville and Johnny Abrego of St. Paul; four sisters, Gloria Abrego Fernandez and Rosa Sanchez, both of Glen Rose, Frances Wilborn of Arlington and Emily Abrego of Albert Lea; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
