Roundup: Wolverines still searching for offensive punch

GLENVILLE &8212;The Glenville-Emmons girls&8217; basketball team shot just 11 percent from the floor against Southeast Conference foe Houston and suffered a 34-19 setback Friday night.
G-E managed just three field goals in the game which undermined a strong defensive showing by the Wolverines.
G-E had 27 turnovers in the game, but did grab 14 steals and went 12 of 20 from the free throw line.
Ashley Lau led G-E with nine points going 7 of 9 from the free throw line, Kailey Davis added three points and five steals and Jordyn VanRyswyk added two points and four blocks.
&8220;The girls played hard but we passed up too many open shots,&8221; G-E head coach Lisa Ziebell said.
The Wolverines (0-5) are back in action Thursday when they travel to face Spring Grove.
NRHEG 61, Medford 45
In Medford, the Tigers had no answer for the Panthers&8217; Brittany Hansen who went off for 36 points, eight rebounds and three steals.
NRHEG controlled the game with the help of Alyssa Kerkhoff who had 10 points and four assists and Jasmine Brouwers who added eight points and eight rebounds.
The Panthers are now 2-0 in Gopher Conference play and 2-1 overall.
Truman 52, A-C 42
In Truman, the Alden-Conger girls&8217; basketball team outscored Truman 29-26 in the second half but it wasn&8217;t enough to pull out the win as it fell, 52-42.
Truman used full court pressure to disrupt the Knights, but A-C did get as close as six points in the second half.
Megan Miller led the Knights with 14 points and Haley Johnson added six points and 11 rebounds.
A-C now sits at 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the Valley Conference.
