&8220;Over the River and Through the Woods&8221; is a comedy about family. Nick is a single, Italian-American guy from New Jersey.
His parents retired to Florida and his sister lives in San Diego. That doesn&8217;t mean his family isn&8217;t still in New Jersey. In fact, he sees both sets of his grandparents every Sunday for dinner. This is his routine until he has to tell them that he&8217;s been offered a dream job, which would take him away from his beloved, but annoying grandparents. He tells them. The news doesn&8217;t sit so well. Thus begins a series of schemes to keep Nick around.
There are six roles available: one male and female in their 30s and two males and two females over the age of 50.
&8220;This is one of the funniest scripts that I&8217;ve read in quite a few years,&8221; said Artisitc Director Patrick Rasmussen, &8220;It&8217;s also very poignant.
It&8217;s a story we all can relate to. We know these people.&8221;
