Local women attend Legion Auxilary fall conference

President Sandra Friedrickson, Arlene Hajek and Cindy Nelson, members of the Glenville American Legion Auxiliary Unit 264, attended the 74th annual fall conference held at the Breezy Point Resort in Breezy Point on Oct. 27 and 28, 2006.
State President Dee Dee Buckley of Roseville was the presiding officer. Her Department President&8217;s Project this year is to raise funds for needed items for the newly authorized spinal cord injury center at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center.
An informative workshop was held on Thursday evening prior to the conference.
Roberta Morrow, National vice president of the Northwestern Division, from Littleton, Colo., was the special guest from the National organization. She spoke to the general session on Friday morning. Also sharing their experiences were State Junior President, Nicole Olson of Minneapolis, and the 2006 Girls Nation Senators from Minnesota Girls State, Maame-Yaa Aforo from Coon Rapids, and Anna Bruesewitz of Litchfield.
Throughout the conference the State Chairmen presented their programs for this auxiliary year. &8220;Just Ask&8221; sessions gave the membership the opportunity to ask questions on the various programs.
The conference concluded on Saturday with the results of the 2007 membership campaign.
