Klingbeil, age 84, of Wells, died on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 at Parkview Care Center in Wells. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells with Pastor Gerald D. Giese officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells. Visitation will be held at the Good Shepherd Church one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Maynard Klingbeil was born on July 6, 1922 in Clark Township, Faribault County, Minn., the son of H. Edward and Olga T. (Besser) Klingbeil.
He married Arleen Christensen on Aug. 10, 1943 in Wells.
Maynard farmed for 20 years north of Alden.
He lived in Conger for 30 plus years and worked at Wilson’s Foods in Albert Lea until his retirement.
After moving to Conger he was a member of Conger Community Card Club where he served as treasurer for 15 years.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
He was owner of Klingbeil Hobby Shop doing woodworking and making wagons.
He enjoyed playing cards, working with wood, repairing and refinishing furniture.
He was fun loving and enjoyed telling jokes.
Maynard is survived by his wife Arleen of Wells; three sisters: Ethel Wick of Mapleton, Margaret Ochs of Fridley, Ardis and husband Harlan Erdman of Janesville; one brother: Robert Klingbeil of Florence, Ala.; sisters-in-law: Aileen Meyer of Wells, Florence Kulla of Dodge Center, Helen Christensen of Albert Lea; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
