ANOKA — Anoka County authorities have charged a woman and her boyfriend in the suspected abuse of her 3-year-old son.
Forty-year-old Elizabeth Ann Moorman of Anoka was charged Friday with felony neglect of a child.
Prosecutors say Moorman brought her son to a Coon Rapids hospital on Tuesday. An examination found the boy had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, two collapsed lungs and retinal hemorrhaging.
According to the complaint, hospital staff told a sheriff’s detective that Moorman was offering various stories on how her son was injured.
Moorman’s boyfriend, 24-year-old Anthony William Urban, is charged with first-degree assault in the case.
The boy was airlifted to HCMC. The sheriff’s office said he was on life support Thursday.
Moorman and Urban remained in jail Friday.
