Robert Paulson, 86, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Robert L. Paulson, age 86, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Mark Miller will officiate. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the Church.
Robert died Monday, Nov. 13, 2006, at Thorne Crest Retirement Center.
Robert Leo Paulson was born Feb. 24, 1920, to Alex M. and Stella (Hansen) Paulson in Ellendale.
The family moved from a farm near Ellendale to the farm east of Albert Lea in 1928 when Robert was 8 years old. Robert attended schools in Ellendale and Albert Lea graduating from Albert Lea High School in 1936. On Jan. 15, 1944, he was united in marriage to Beatrice Ann Christenson at her parents&8217; home in Albert Lea. Robert was a dedicated farmer all of his life. He had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1932 and was involved in many different areas of the church including serving as the financial secretary, a member of the building committee of the present church, chairman of the board of trustees, and several other committees. Robert had also served as chairman of the board of School District 37.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Beatrice; son, David and wife, Paulette (Westland) Paulson of Albert Lea; grandson, Nicholas Paulson of Ames, Iowa, and friend, Emily Kinser of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; granddaughter, Betsy Paulson of Waterloo, Iowa, and fiance, Nathan Smith of Waterloo, Iowa; sister, Erliss and husband, Roland Kelzenberg of Owatonna; sisters-in-law: Dorothy (Christenson) Farnham, Eunice (Christenson) Jensen, and Helen (Christenson) Coonradt, all of Albert Lea; and several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven; brothers-in-law: Les Sorenson, Red Imme, Alva Jensen, Ken Coonradt and Blair Farnham; and sister-in-law, Shirley Imme.
Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
