Erma Wacholz, 93, Mankato

Erma H. Wacholz, age 93, of Mankato, formerly of Kiester and Mansfield, died on Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, at her son&8217;s home in Eagle Lake.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Mansfield Lutheran Church with the Rev. Don Rose officiating. Interment will be in Mansfield Lutheran Cemetery in Mansfield Township, Freeborn County. Visitation will be held at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells on Thursday, Sept. 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church.
Erma Wacholz was born on Nov. 11, 1912, in Freeborn County, the daughter of George F. and Emma B. (Schacko) Meyer. She married William H. Wacholz on June 6, 1934, in Mansfield. She was a resident of Mansfield Township most of her life, moving to Kiester then to Mankato in 1999. She was a lifelong member of Mansfield Lutheran Church, the WELCA and Altar Guild. She enjoyed playing cards, golfing, fishing, sewing and crocheting.
She is survived by four children: Marlyn and wife Norma Wacholz of Spicer, Karen and husband LaMar Courrier of Deer River, Leon and wife Linda Wacholz of Eagle Lake, Dale and wife Carolyn Wacholz of Madison Lake; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers Raymond, Alfred, Orville and one in infancy.
