The Albert boys&8217; soccer team lost a heartbreaker Thursday night to Big Nine rival Owatonna, 3-2.

AL fell behind 1-0 just one minute into the match and 2-0 in the first 10 minutes, but came back to tie the score at half time 2-2.

Filipe Ambriz scored both Tiger goals, giving him four in the last two games. A.J. Kortz and Josh Svendsen collected an assist apiece.

&8220;We were the better team,&8221; said AL head coach Elia Romano. &8220;I know we lost, this is probably the only time I will be able to say that after a loss. But we were better than they were tonight.&8221;

AL came out running in the second half, keeping the Huskies on defense for the better part of 10

minutes before giving up a breakaway goal that put Owatonna ahead for good at 3-2.

The Tigers kept up the preasure all night, running at the Huskies hard and often. The Tigers had 14 shots on goal compared to Owatonna&8217;s seven.

&8220;It&8217;s a shame we didn&8217;t come away with a win,&8221; said Romano. &8220;As well as we played, we deserved it.&8221;

The loss drops the Tigers below the .500 mark for the young season at 1-2. The Tigers host another Big Nine opponent Tuesday when Mankato West comes to town. Game time is at 7 p.m.
