Veva Amundson, 81, Albert Lea

The memorial service for Veva Novella Amundson, of Albert Lea, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel, Albert Lea. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel, Albert Lea and one hour before the service.
Veva died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Center. She was 81 years old.
Veva was born April 24, 1925, in Glenville, to Charles and Ethel (Wadding) Sayles. She grew up south of Albert Lea and attended country school. Veva married Walter Norman Amundson on June 27, 1948. She worked in the kitchen as a cook for Good Samaritan for 16 and a half years. Veva belonged to the VFW and Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed bird watching, animals, growing flowers and cooking but especially enjoyed her dog Princess.
Veva is survived by her two sons: Darrel Amundson and his wife Pat of Albert Lea and Ricky Amundson and his wife Judy of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Michelle, Jason, Christopher, Bruce, Brian and Diana; great-grandchildren: Bradley, Brett, Matthew, Christian, Tyler, Taylor, Trinity and Hailey; aunt, Mable Wadding; and many nieces and nephews.
Veva is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Ethel Sayles; husband Walter; two brothers: Floyd and Virgil.
