Inspired by his calling, the Rev. Dan Baker of First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea is driven to do something for his community. In the wake of the recent devastation his desire is to promote healing and help the community come together in hope.

At 7 p.m. Sunday, a multi-denominational worship service for help, healing and hope will be hosted at the First Lutheran Church at 301 W. Clark St. in Albert Lea.

Many people have been involved in offering aid to those affected by the storms and will be impacted by what they witnessed for years to come. Recognizing God’s hand of provision, the community is invited to come together to celebrate life and the many gifts bestowed upon us.

Baker took this stand as seven families from his church were personally affected.

Salvation Army Capt. Jim Brickson stated, that when a community meets together after a catastrophe they often rebound much stronger and more quickly. “Our community is a strong, caring one where help and love are freely given. We can take a few moments aside to share a common experience from a commonality of Christianity.”
