Violet Bryant, 79

Memorial services for Violet E. Bryant will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel. The Rev. Richard Spande will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. There will be no reviewal. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albert Lea.
Mrs. Bryant died Monday evening at the Thornecrest Retirement Center in Albert Lea, she was 79 years of age.
Violet was born Sept. 2, 1926, in Lakefield, Minn., the daughter of Charles and Rosa (Seydel) Wagner. She graduated from public school in Lakefield and was then united in marriage to Kenneth Bryant.
Violet was employed for many years as a telephone operator with the Mankato Telephone Co. Together with her husband Kenneth, they moved to Albert Lea in 1994 where she had made her home ever since. She was a member of the AARP and the Policeman’s Auxiliary in Ames, Iowa. Violet loved sewing and often made many of her own clothes and her husband’s shirts. She enjoyed going to the Albert Lea Senior Center and playing cards.
Violet is survived by her children Charles Bryant of Rosemount, Minn., Twylla Barnett of Chattanooga, Tenn., Kenneth Bryant Jr. of St. James; sisters and brothers Erna Schmidt of Tuscan, Ariz., Frieda Crittenden of Lakefield, Holly (Bob) Brisbane of Scottsdale, Ariz., Willard (Analisa) Wagner of Lakefield, Wilda Wagner of Lakefield, Ray (Beverly) Wagner of Lakefield, Minn., Charles Wagner Jr. of Lake Crystal, Ruth (Elmer) Angle of Ottumwa, Iowa, Carol Williams of Albert Lea, Twylla (Ken) Pedersen of Storden; and many nieces and nephews.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth in 1998; and sisters and brothers Ella Kruse, Rose Rossow, Martha Fricke, Clara Machow, Harold Wagner and Roy Wagner.
