Mondeel plays in All-Star game

Albert Lea Tiger Jordan Mondeel played in the Lions All-Star game July 3. The teams are made up of the top senior baseball players in Minnesota; Mondeel represented one of four other Big Nine players who participated.
As a senior, playing for the Tigers this past season, Mondeel batted .373 with four doubles, three triples and two home runs. He also knocked in 12 runs and stole nine bases in 10 attempts.
In addition to being a Lions’ All-Star, Mondeel was Big Nine All-Conference and named to the Albert Lea Tribune All-Area First Team.
Mondeel is the second Albert Lea Tiger to play in the game in the past 10 years. Past participants were Issac Walton, 2002; Jeff Schulz, 1999; Eric Goodmanson, 1998; Adam Benson, 1997; Andy Stockinger, 1995; Derek Fleek, 1991; John Nelson, 1981; Jeff Stegenga, 1980; Steve Curry, 1978; Paul Sherman, 1976.
