Margaret Olsen, 85, rural Austin

Margaret Virginia Olsen, age 85, of rural Austin, died at her home Friday, June 30, 2006.
She was born Aug. 28, 1920, to Alexander and Esther (Mickelson) Somage in Albert Lea where she grew up and married Agar G. Olsen on Feb. 14, 1941. They made their home on a farm south of Austin until moving to the Olsen family farm in Marshall Township in 1950.
Margaret belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Dexter. She enjoyed being outdoors tending her garden and flowers. She will be remembered for spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Curtis (Sandra) Olsen of Del Rio, Texas; one daughter, Denise (David) Igou of Austin; six grandchildren, Kevin (Shelby) Olsen of Kerrville, Texas; Jodell (Gary) Adcock of San Angelo, Texas; Heather Martinez of Del Rio, Texas; Jeremy (Rochelle) Igou of Austin; Leah (Jeremy) Taylor of Cottage Grove and Scott (Deb) Igou of St. Ansgar, Iowa; twelve great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marvel Steinhauer of Kiester; Rosemary Stern of Alden; Norma Jean Hummer of Kiester; Shirley Stenseth of Albert Lea; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Agar in 2004; her parents; three brothers, Perry, John and Odean and two sisters, LaVonne and Alice.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Dexter, with the Rev. Robert Seifert officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Worlein Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church.
