ROCHESTER &045;&160;The Albert Lea Legion baseball team lost a pitcher’s duel to the Rochester A’s Thursday 2-0.
Nick Bunz pitched six innings giving up one earned run, three walks and striking out a pair.
However, Post 56 was unable to get the offense in gear collecting just three hits in the game.
D.J. Kjos, Jared Gavle and Matt Friedman accounted for all Albert Lea’s
offense as the team played without several key players.
Bunz found himself in a bases loaded one out situation in the fourth but worked his way out of the jam giving up just one run.
Post 56’s best chance to score came in the fifth when Kjos led off with a ball to the gap but was thrown out trying to take second. Friedman would lace a double in the frame but would not score.
&8220;It was a well played game and it was good to see our kids compete against a quality team,&8221; said Albert Lea head coach Matt Trygstad.
Post 56 is back in action Saturday traveling to Winona for a doubleheader.
