Henry (Hank) Carlson, age 88, of Oakland, died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at St.
Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin.
He was born Dec. 16, 1917, in Denison, Iowa, to Oscar and Elizabeth (Lilljstrad) Carlson. He attended school near Corning. His family moved to Oakland when he was 16 and he later took over the family farm where he continued to farm throughout his life. He married Adeline Peterson on Aug. 16, 1942, at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Winnabego.
Hank was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and Moose Lodge 1180 in Austin. He loved his cows, his tractors, and especially his grandkids.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. with The Rev. Greg Mannel officiating. Visitation will be held at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday one hour before the service. There will be no reviewal. Organist will be Neal Erickson. Soloist will be Lenise Arnold.
He is survived by: wife: Adeline Carlson of Oakland, son, Richard (Smokey) Karen Carlson of Oakland, grandchildren, Amber and Brandon Carlson and Jack Remiger, brother, Edwin (Sally) Carlson of Austin, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Swede and infant son Roger.
