NORTHWOOD &045; A slow start by Northwood-Kensett proved to be too much to overcome against North Central as the Vikings fell, 10-9.
North Central put all 10 of its runs on the board in the first four innings and took advantage of five N-K errors to go along with seven hits.
The Vikings did not fold after the slow start putting five on the board in the fourth inning and four more in the sixth but could not push the tying run across the plate.
Dan Bestul had a pair of hits for the Vikings including a home run while Travis Johnson and Evan Davis combined for four hits.
&8220;North Central came to play ball and we weren’t ready,&8221; said N-K head coach Mike Reindl. &8220;NC did a good job of swing their bats and we had a few early errors that really hurt.&8221;
Grayson Pangburn took the loss for the Vikings giving up eight walks and striking out two.
