Recently, Mark Christian made it vehemently clear the Bible states homosexuality is an abomination (Leviticus 18:22) and to disagree is to spit in Jesus’ face. End of story, right?

Though, if I must follow these words, I need some advice on some others, maybe he can help? One day I would like to have children. Exodus 21:7 states I should sell my daughter into slavery. What does he think is a fair price nowadays? I have a friend who works on the Sabbath, Exodus 35:2 clearly states he must be put to death, am I morally obligated as a Christian to kill him?

Leviticus 25:44 states that I may own slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. Should I write a letter to Congress saying they made a mistake in 1865? My mother wears fabric made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend), tends to swear and blaspheme time to time, and in her garden she planted two different crops in the same garden, all which violate Leviticus 19:19. According to Leviticus 24: 10-16, we must gather the whole town for a stoning, but isn’t there some other method that consists of much less effort?

Now, I hope all of the readers get this letter is a satirical one, and my point is that the Old Testament has many laws that no one pays attention to or follows anymore, so why must Christians defend a Bible verse in Leviticus when many of the other laws stated in Leviticus aren’t followed anymore? This past Easter Sunday we celebrated Jesus dying and resurrecting to save us from following the Old Covenant, so why are people defending it?
