LeCENTER &045;&160;LeCenter/Cleveland used a four-run fifth inning to down the Alden-Conger softball team 9-4.

The Knights had pulled within one run at 4-3 heading into the fifth but would not be able to get any closer.

Kaylee Newman threw all seven innings for A-C giving up 11 hits, walking eight and striking out five.

Newman also had one of the team’s four hits which was a double.

Kristen Faugstad added a triple and RBI, Vanessa Politz had a double and two runs driven in and Krista Mathiason had a single.

&8220;We played better defensively, we just need to get more aggressive at the plate from the first at bat in the game,&8221; said Knight head coach Gary Nelson.

The Knights are back in action Tuesday when they host Martin County West.
