Here are highlights in history for Sept. 19, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1985 — Carolyn Ann Kruse of Stevens Point, Wis., was named as executive director of the newly created Albert Lea Convention and Visitors Bureau.
1975 — Dog ‘N Suds, Highway 16 and 65 East (now East Main Street) had different hours for inside service and curb (car hop) service, according to their Tribune ad.
1965 — Albert Lea Mayor Niles R. Shoff was the guest speaker at the fall session of St. Theodore’s Catholic Men’s Club held at St. Mary’s School Gymnasium.
