Huston, Minear lead Glenville-Emmons boys’ golf over Lyle/Pacelli

Glenville-Emmons seniors Cody Huston and Josh Minear both shot 47 to lead the Glenville-Emmons boys’ golf team past Lyle/Pacelli 194-202 Friday at the Northwood Country Club in Iowa.

After Huston and Minear, Cody Gaines recorded a 49, while Zach Wangen finished with a 51 on a windy day. Gaines broke 50 for the first time and improved by six strokes from his last meet.

Lyle/Pacelli’s Alex Brennen shot a 45 to earn medalist honors.

With the victory, the Wolverines improved to 2-2 on the season.

Glenville-Emmons played Saturday in Blooming Prairie, as this edition went to press.

Lyle/Pacelli hands Glenville-Emmons girls fourth consecutive loss

Jenna Klingson recorded a 62, while Karrin Olson scored a 70, but it wasn’t enough as Lyle/Pacelli defeated the Glenville-Emmons girls’ golf team 243-303 on Friday in Northwood.

The Athletics were led by Jennie Marx, who recorded a 51 and earned medalist honors at the meet.

Kendra Davis shot a 72 on the day and Madison Minear carded a 99 for the Wolverines.

With the loss, Glenville-Emmons fell to 0-4 on the season.

The Wolverines will be in action on Tuesday, as it travels to Alden-Conger.
