My son Jakib, 6, had his bike stolen out of our front yard in August. What made this situation most upsetting was that he was just given this bike from his grandparents three days prior to it being stolen.

I reported the stolen bike to the police department. I never expected it to be found nor did I ever expect to be called by Vicki Larson. When I received this phone call, I was aware of what her son Culley had gone through and the publicity that surrounded his letter. She informed me that Jakib had been chosen to receive a brand new bike dedicated to Culley’s 10 Bikes for 10 Kids event.

This was a surprise for Jakib on Sunday. He is so happy and grateful, as are his dad and myself. We appreciate the kindness and generosity that this “small town” offers. We’re proud to be a part of a community that supports one another. Thank you to the Larsons and the sponsors. It is very much appreciated!
