David O. Christenson, 35, of Owatonna, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Owatonna Hospital.
He was born March 18, 1976, in Albert Lea the son of Milton Christenson and Judy (Johnson) Christenson. At the age of 9, he moved to Owatonna and attended Owatonna High School. David worked as a welder in the Owatonna area.
He loved hunting, fishing, his guns, and oil painting. David was a great story teller with a great sense of humor. He especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter, KeyLee and his dog, Ringo.
He is survived by his daughter, KeyLee Hoffstatter of Owatonna; fiance, Victoria Lee of Owatonna; mother, Judy Christenson of Aekley; father, Milton (and Judy Gores) Christenson of Faribault; two sisters: Sue (and Tim) Sullivan of Ham Lake and Patty (and Jim) Hove of Albert Lea; two brothers: Steve (and Nancy) Lukens of Wahpeton, N.D., and Jason (and Lauren) Christenson of Virginia Beach, Va.; two step-sisters: Becky (and Adam) Rein of Owatonna and Melissa (and Ryan) Warner of Owatonna; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; stepmother, Karolyn Christenson; uncle, Jim Johnson; and cousin, Elizabeth Christenson.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Michaelson Funeral Home with the Rev. John Weisenburger officiating. Interment will be held in St. John Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or National Kidney Foundation.
