FARIBAULT &045; The Glenville-Emmons boys were victorious over the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf in Faribault, 76-61.
The Wolverines had trouble with MSAD in the first half, particularly from the 3-point shooters. MSAD drained six 3s early in the game that kept G-E from building a big lead.
At the half G-E had a four point advantage.
In the second half, the Wolverines made some adjustments that helped them shut their opponents down.
&8220;We did a better job defensively in the second half,&8221; said G-E head coach Dan Fredrickson.
The Wolverines defense held MSAD to 26 points in the after halftime.
Devin Yost led G-E in scoring with 21 points. He also had 10 rebounds to record the double-double.
Wade Flattum scored 18 and racked up 15 assists to match Yost’s double-double, while Michael Greibrok scored 17 and had eight assists.
&8220;Those two did an outstanding job, they know what needs to be done when a game needs to be won,&8221; said Fredrickson.
