Albert Lea continues to rack up the wins

ROCHESTER &045; The No. 1-rated Albert Lea wrestling team took care of business against Rochester Century and Caledonia, Tuesday night.
The Tigers downed Century 58-10 getting wins in the first three matches of the night from Cody Hansen, Logan Kortan and Eric Johnson.
Beau Hansen pinned his opponent in 47 seconds at 130 pounds, Adam Kermes won a 9-6 decision over Corey Zastrow at 135 and Logan Hansen downed Isaac Kuelker 8-2.
Matt Morris would pin Scott Shaubert at 145 before both Taylor Ignazewski and Alex Paul won by major decision at 160 and 171, respectively.
Matt Vietze rolled over his opponent 21-4 at 189 and both Mike Honeycutt and Ben Berhow won by first period falls.
&8220;It was an important win because it was another conference dual and we need to win them all to take the conference title,&8221; said Albert Lea head coach Larry Goodnature.
&8220;We wrestled well and got the job done tonight.&8221;
The same scenario played out against Caledonia with Kortan recording a pin at 112 counting for one of the three straight victories the Tigers posted to begin the dual.
Beau Hansen, Zach McGinnis and Morris all won their matches by decision while Nate Goodnature had to go to overtime at 152 but he also picked up the win 9-5.
Paul took his match at 171 8-5, Vietze won a high -scoring match over Kevin Klug 13-10 and Berhow put Lucas Thiele’s shoulders on the mat in 3:16 to complete the night for the Tigers.
Albert Lea is back in action Thursday when it faces Big Nine foe Mankato East.
