Tigers battle Rochester Century in the pool

ALBERT LEA &045; Despite 10 open spots in various events the Albert Lea boys’ swim team still pushed Rochester Century in a Big Nine Conference dual falling 97-81.
The Tigers were led by Josh Anderson, Josh Elwood, Ben Schreiber and Matt Van Fossen as the quartet raced past the field in the 200 freestyle relay winning in 1:36.05.
While those four swimmers may have had success swimming, Matt Rankin proved to be the class of the field in the diving competition easily winning with a total of 153.30.
Anderson would add a victory in the 200 free coming to the wall in 1:58.93 while Van Fossen was third in 2:02.38.
Elwood was the Tigers only entry in the 100 butterfly, but he easily won the event by over a second with a mark of 58.62.
