Myrna Ladlie, 91, of Albert Lea

Funeral services for Myrna L. Ladlie, age 91, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, at the First Presbyterian Church, of Albert Lea. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Myrna Yocum Ladlie, of Albert Lea, was born on April 1, 1914, in Glenville, the daughter of Chet and Essie Yocum. She lived in the Albert Lea and Alden area. Myrna graduated from the Albert Lea High School in 1932. Following graduation, she did housework in Albert Lea. She married Henry Ladlie on Nov. 23, 1938. They farmed near New Richland and then moved to Albert Lea. She then worked at the Avalon Cafe and Skyline Cafeteria.
Myrna belonged to the First Presbyterian Church and was an active member of Lydia Circle.
Survivors include son Phillip and wife Belinda, of Omaha, Neb., son Curtis of Albert Lea, as well as four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, her parents, four brothers and one sister.
Over fifty years ago, Myrna and her late husband, Henry, became involved with a concerned group of parents in Albert Lea who fought to create a better life for their children with developmental disabilities. They were charter members of the Albert Lea Chapter of ARC. Memorials can be left to Arc Freeborn County, P.O. Box 944, Albert Lea, MN, 56007.
