Marie Virginia Wacholtz, 90, of Austin, died Wednesday evening, Dec. 28, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Healthcare Center in Albert Lea.
Marie was born Feb. 10, 1915, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Axel and Grace (Marchal) Henning. She married Hubert Matthew Wacholtz on June 13, 1938, in Albert Lea.
Survivors include her husband Hubert Wacholtz, Albert Lea. Children, Robert (Sharon) Wacholtz, New Hope, William (Kathleen) Wacholtz, Amhurst, Va., Richard (Violet) Wacholtz, Bloomington,
Janet (David) Zupon, Becker, Minn., Thomas (Mavis) Wacholtz, Rochester, Theodore (Linda) Wacholtz, Boothbay, Maine, and Veronica (Larry) Haselius, Coon Rapids, 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Helen Ryan, Omaha, Neb., and twin sisters, Maureen Herbst and Marilyn Reit both of Milwaukee, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Paul Henning, a sister Carol and a grandson, John Wacholtz.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin with the Rev. Joe Fogal officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be a 4 p.m. CCW Rosary and a 6:30 p.m. prayer service on Sunday evening at the Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 to 10 a.m., on Monday.
