Clyde Eugene Dilling, 82, of 5824 Ehrhardt Road, Ehrhardt, S.C., died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, with the Rev.
Tim Bryson officiating Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Ehrhardt-Bamberg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Clyde Dilling was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Albert Lea and was a son of the late Clyde C. Dilling and Orceilia (Culp) Dilling. He retired from Wilson Meat Packing Company in Albert Lea and served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church.
He was also a member of the American Leagion and VFW in Albert Lea and was a member of the Crossroads Campers. He served as a Scout Master for 12 years and was the recipient of the Lamb Award and the Silver Beaver Award. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who loved living close to grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the many visits he received from them.
Surviving include his wife, Patricia Jane Sorenson Dilling of Ehrhardt; son, Kimm Eugene Dilling and his wife Vickie Hanson Dilling of Ehrhadt; grandchildren, Chand Eugene Dilling Sr., Milissa Jean Dilling Kinard, and Aaron James Dilling; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Alta Farlinger of St. Ansgar, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Thomas Clyde Dilling; and 10 brothers and sisters.
