I am expecting the seven Minnesota Supreme Court justices to rule unanimously that Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s unallotment is unconstitutional mainly on my view that we have no “activist judges” on this court. So then, what would be next? Of course, our DFL legislators will come together and fight for the poor, public education, rebuildng our infrastructure and all else necessary by going back to committees to take on their sworn responsibility to represent us in a serious manor.

Approximately 10 years ago, the Republican Party destroyed decades of compromises on tax policy by drastically restructuring how we pay for what made Minnesota the leader in health care, public education, infrastructure and all else which creates a civil society acting responsibly. We expect the DFL to expose this 10-year Republican Party plan of “starving the beast” by aggressively arguing that the beast is all of us together. 

We are the poor, we are the families who have children in our public school systems, we drive on the roads, cross the bridges, drink the water, breathe the air, work in regulated safe environments, rely on those who protect and serve, live in and enjoy our multifacted towns and cities plus we know and see that the Republican Party has long since stopped being anything close to a responsible/critically thinking Minnesotan. 

Take them on, DFLers! You know what you have to do. It is not rocket science. Have the courage to stand up and fight for us.
