Here are highlights in history for Sept. 27, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1986 — An opening-day ceremony was held for the new Hardee’s Restaurant near the Northbridge Mall. One of the features of this fast food place was an indoor playground for children.
1976 — One of the columnists on the Tribune’s family page was Diane Damerow who wrote comments and recipes under the heading of “Date With Diane.”
1956 — A gymnasium for the proposed Southwest Junior High School would be capable of seating 3,000 spectators.
