Jens Pedersen, 104, Albert Lea

Graveside services for Jens B. Pedersen, of Albert Lea, will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea. The Rev. Roger Davies will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea.

Mr. Pedersen died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at the Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 104 years of age.

Jens was born on January 27, 1901, in Denmark, the son of Peter and Else Pedersen. He received his education in Denmark. In December of 1925 he sailed from Copenhagen to New York City. He then traveled by train to St Paul, eventually locating in Albert Lea.

Jens served in the Army Air Corps before returning to the farm to work as a hired hand. He was also employed by Rilco Laminated (now ALAMCO) retiring in 1962.

Jens was a member of Calvary Baptist Church since December of 1933. Music played a big part in his life, and he loved to play the piano and organ. He also loved to listen to the old time hymns.

Jens is survived by many friends in the Albert Lea area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Friends may gather at the church following the graveside service for fellowship and lunch.
