Tish was born in Denver, Colo., on Oct. 2, 1915, to Fred and Rachel Davis. She grew up in Malvern, Iowa, attended girls prep school and college at Baylor University in Texas. Tish could talk to someone about the style of clothing that the person wished and she had the talent to cut and design free hand without using a pattern. Her best customers were hard to fit women who wanted to look nice. She went on to receive a bachelor degree in science and her master’s degree in art from Mankato State University. She taught school for several years in northern Iowa and douthern Minnesota. She later worked for Dayton/Hudson in Rochester as an interior designer until her retirement at age 75. During her 80s she was an active student studying art at Mankato State University. She attended all the Mankato State football home games while enrolled at the school. Tish was an excellent equestrian, traveled widely, excellent in the culinary arts and encouraged young artists.
She is survived by son, John Bailey, Philadelphia, Pa.; daughter Carli Bailey Walbert, Peoria Ill.; grandson Billy Boswell, Minneapolis; granddaughter, Rachel Collier, Peoria, Ill., and great-granddaughter Selena Boswell, Peoria, Ill.
