The funeral service for Arlen Boyd Carlsgaard, of

Glenville, will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22,

at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Myrtle. The Rev. Jeff Wallager will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood, Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.

Arlen died

Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester. He was 72 years old.

Arlen was born July 22, 1933, at Glenville to Arthur and Beatrice (Odden) Carlsgaard. He has been a Freeborn County resident most of his life. Arlen married Eleanor Legried on Sept. 8, 1956, at the First Lutheran Church parsonage in Glenville. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and served on the church council. He worked for the Illinois Central Railroad. Arlen was a member of the Moose Club and the Myrtle Fire Department. He enjoyed playing cards and wood working.

Arlen is survived by his wife, Eleanor Carlsgaard of Glenville; three children:

Darlene (Ron)Wilkes of Glenville, Wendy (Brian) Heine of Albert Lea, and Jerald Carlsgaard of Mankato;

grandchildren:

Nicole and Jessica Wilkes, and Diana Heine;

and brother, Merlin (Marjorie) Carlsgaard of Glenville. Other survivors include: nieces and nephews; sister-in-law,

Bonita (James) Tuttle of Ladysmith, Wis.; brother-in-law, Ivan Legried of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; and

sister-in-law,

Sylvia Meuser of Albert Lea.

Arlen is preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Carlsgaard; brother, Gerald Carlsgaard; sister, Joan Back; and mother- and father-in-law:

Raymond and Iva Legried.
