District Republican convention is next weekend

The First Congressional Republican District Convention will be held April 16 and 17 in Mankato.
Friday evening, April 16, there will be a meet and greet candidate forum beginning at 6 p.m. with a social hour and an appetizer buffet meal followed by remarks by constitutional candidates and special guest state party Chairman Tony Sutton. The congressional candidate forum will follow.
The convention will convene at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 17, in the Centennial Student Union at Mankato State University.
The purpose of the convention include the following:
Considering Republican Party endorsement for First District Congress;
Considering resolutions to Minnesota Republican Platform Committee
Transacting such other business as may properly come before the convention.
Candidates running for the endorsement for First District Congressman are: Jim Hagedorn, Blue Earth; Jim Engstrand, Pine Island; Randy Demmer, Hayfield; and Allen Quist, Mankato.
